I'm so happy to be starting a new Church year and beginning Christmas preparations! I adore the liturgical cycle. I especially like that Advent makes us slow down and reflect during a time of year that to the rest of culture is full of frenzied shopping and parties. Plus, pretty candles.
I'm also happy that I can stop actively ignoring those people who think the Christmas season starts on November 1 and not the first Sunday of Advent. Fortunately, these people think the season ends on December 25, and I'll get to annoy them back with my continuing celebration well through Epiphany.
